Diana Walker has a Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University and a Masters degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Both degrees are in piano performance.
At fourteen she started teaching piano lessons and discovered that was more fun and more lucrative than babysitting. During the past 30 years she has chaired a piano department at the university level and taught for community colleges. Her background includes teaching private lessons, running electronic piano labs, coaching piano ensembles and teaching music history and humanities classes.
Age twelve was when she started playing hymns for church. Since then she has served the church community as pianist, organist, and choir director.
She has played solo concerts, worked with jazz trios and played with orchestras.
She has arranged orchestral scores, put together chamber music concerts for radio and TV and been a competition judge. Her students have won competitions and earned advanced degrees.
